The Strawberry Festival
What started as a dream has grown into one of Owensboro's most beloved annual celebrations. The Cottage Farm Stand hosted its very first Strawberry Festival back in June 2022 , and the event has been growing ever since. Now in its fifth year, organizer and Cottage Farm Stand owner Marlene Knight has watched attendance climb to more than 7,500 visitors — and the excitement keeps building.
Each year, the festival delivers a full weekend of family-friendly activities, live entertainment, and of course, fresh strawberries. Past festivals have featured over 150 vendors offering everything from natural handmade soaps and fresh honey to handmade ceramics and unique artisan goods, alongside a wide variety of food trucks. Kids have always had a blast with inflatables, face painting, a bubble area, a treasure dig, pony rides, and a petting zoo — plus the always-popular "Truck Town," an interactive display featuring big rigs and farm equipment.
Live music has been a cornerstone of the festival every year, with past performers including Annabel Whitledge, Cam Thompson, Dakota Hayden, Maggie Hollis, and The Lowland Rambler. And last year marked an exciting new addition to the lineup — a classic car show, complete with multiple categories and prizes, which was such a hit that it's back and bigger for 2026!
The Strawberry Festival has truly become a community tradition at The Cottage — a place where neighbors gather, local makers shine, and memories are made every summer. We can't wait to welcome you back for another unforgettable weekend.
